Otay Ranch Town Center is getting all dolled up for Prom Jam, a fun, interactive teen shopping event Saturday, April 12, from 1 to 4 p.m.
The center has all the must-have retailers under one roof to serve teens’ prom needs including Macy’s, Franchesca’s Collections, Banana Republic, Swarovski, Sephora and Sola Salon Studios, among others.
“We want to provide teens and their parents with the latest prom tips and trends in an entertaining and stress-free way,” said Tina Medina, Otay Ranch Town Center’s senior marketing manager. “Prom Jam will combine all the elements important to teens – fashion, retailer deals, music, fun with friends – and it’s all free.”
The event will entertain teen shoppers with prom-themed fashion shows, mini-makeovers, live music, gifts with purchase and more.
Teens will also be able to mark the occasion by taking a special free photo with their friends in the Prom Jam photo booth. Customers can also participate in the Prom Jam Photo Sweepstakes for a chance to win one of five $100 Shop Etc. gift cards.
Trends for prom 2014:
•Black and white are classics, but be sure to consider color. Bold colors look great on most skin tones and you’ll be sure to stand out. Coral is the new orange. Plus check out all shades of purple and greens from emerald to lime.
•This look is a red carpet trend that has made its way to prom fashions. Fun, flirty and flattering.
•These elements can provide a sweet and vintage look with an unexpected edge. Lace can be layered in a monochromatic look or as a contrast. Metallic embroidery becomes an accessory.
•From ’50s style ball gowns to updated ’20s flapper dresses, these new takes on vintage classics make a contemporary statement.
•A variety of styles from long to short to cap sleeves create a feminine and unique look.
•Over the top luxurious featuring brilliant gems and rhinestones in cuffs, rings and hair pieces.
•This year’s hottest hair trends include the messy “up-do,” half up/half down and the classic prom “up-do.”
