Just as the leaves begin to fall and the weather begins to cool down, so do the summer fashions. Fall is upon us and the fashion trends have changed.

The official Pantone color of the year is Emerald, “expect to see lots of green as well as traditional fall colors like brown, pumpkin and pops of blue and bright cranberry colors,” said Tina Medina, Senior Marketing Manager of Otay Ranch Town Center. “I’m seeing lots of gray as well.”

Since the weather is expected to cool down, boxy jackets and belted coats as well as boots and stacked booties will grace popular clothing stores. “Chunky heels and 1940’s inspired looks are back,” said Medina.

Fall makeup will be all about deep multi-dimensional red lips, graffiti patterned nails, and smokey eyes.

As for jewelry, “expect to see more of the statement pieces like bold colors and patterns in necklaces and bracelets,” said Medina.

For men, fitted suits and shirts as well as chunky sweaters and cardigans will be popular this fall in addition to cuffed pants and jeans.

Otay Ranch Town Center hosted a fashion event for students who wanted  to get more information on this year’s fall 2013 trends.

The event titled, Teen Vogue Back-to-School Saturday, featured retailer offers, promotions, fashion shows, and a DJ as well as a special performance by the “A+ Dropouts,” a teen pop-rock band featured on MTV, VH1 and Fuse TV.
