Falling for Socal style

It’s no secret autumn is pretty much nonexistent in Southern California. In the style world, there is!
Hats are a key element in a fall wardrobe. Cute hats are wonderful for a walk through the park on a chilly morning. Dark colored hats work best with jeans and T-shirts. If you’re in the mood to spice it up you can grab a bright colored one that matches your outfit.
Wide, floppy-brimmed hats are my favorite. They work with just about every occasion and it’s feminine or casual. Try pairing it with a dark-colored knee-length dress and fall booties. If the dress is loose, add a thin brown belt to finish off the look.
Jackets are autumn’s best friends. Leather jackets work wonders on a laid back look with your best denim. If leather isn’t really down your alley, try another material while keeping fall colors in mind. Forest green, camel brown, rust and charcoal will fit just right in the season.
Booties are a must for fall. You can wear them with jeans, skirts and dresses. If you want the biggest bang for your buck, I recommend getting dark brown or black because they’ll match with the most. Booties don’t have heels therefore it’s mainly for casual daytime looks.
Boots on the other hand can have heels whether they’re knee-high boots or ankle boots. This style works best for a night out on the town. If you choose high boots with a heel, go simple on top with your blouse and makeup. If you choose a short style, you have less drama in your outfit leaving you with more room to play.
Autumn is a fun season for style especially for us lucky ducks here in Southern California. We get the best of both worlds by using fall pieces while still pairing it with our favorite A-line or full shirts. Allow this season to motivate you to try new things and practice your pairing and matching with a touch of your personality to shine through as always.
