Fun, fresh and funky – three words to perfectly describe this year’s show-stopping trends.
As difficult as it was to choose only a few, I’ve collected my favorites to share with you all. Enjoy!
Metallic
No matter where I turn, I can’t help but notice this trend. Every magazine I flip through; every store I shop in, there it is! Those who dare to be bold with their style will absolutely love this up-and-coming look. If you choose the right piece, you’ll have the best chance at avoiding looking like a disco ball from the 70’s. Metallic pieces offer a fun yet effortlessness look. Try pairing a metallic top with a black A-line skirt (tucked in.) Add a blazer and you have a sophisticated look with a little shine.
Simple dresses
Long, feminine slip dresses are popping up all over the place! You won’t want to miss out on this staple silhouette. It’s simple to accessorize and works well with a variety of occasions –from casual brunch to a night out with your loved one. Pair it with a denim jacket and some combat boots for a five-minute look. For a romantic approach (with Valentine’s Day around the corner) slip on your sexiest pair of pumps and add as much sparkle as you want! Slip dresses work wonderfully with thin belts also. For the most upscale look, wear sparkly stud earrings and a cuff bracelet. If your slip dress has a V-neck, I highly suggest adding a glamorous necklace to top off the look. I suggest keeping your makeup simple the more accessories you add.

Suede
I was pretty surprised by this trend. Usually, suede is the best trend for fall, but not this year! Jackets, booties, skirts and even full-length dress – suede is a must. Mixing textures is what makes working with suede so adventurous. Knowing what textures to mix it with is the challenge.

Flowy sleeves
Remember bell-bottoms? Well, they’re back. Except this time, they’re on top and there’s no ignoring it. The best part about this trend is that it goes well with just about any bottoms – including bell bottoms! Solid colors including reds and oranges are great if you’re looking for a modern approach to the 60’s. Try pairing your billowy-sleeved top with a pencil skirt for the office. There’s also some great prints and detailed bell-sleeved tops. The details are what truly make this trend unstoppable.
Some of these trends may be a bit intimidating at first. Once you give some of them a shot, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find out just how easy it is to take it one notch up.
